Lent begins THIS Wednesday. Besides Sunday morning worship, we are offering three creative ways for us to grow spiritually during this important season of the Christian liturgical year. Please take advantage of these opportunities to participate in your Lenten journey with our church friends!
- Lenten Bible Study
There is still time to register for the Lenten Bible Study which is being offered to our church every Saturday, beginning THIS Saturday, via Zoom. It will be lead by Rev. Dr. Jamall Calloway, our Youth/Young Adult Minister (and resident scholar!) If you are interested please let Jamall know asap, so that we can order a book for you, by emailing him at email@example.com.
Here is the Bible study description from Jamall:
“Lent is around the corner and it is time to prepare our souls and spirits. Therefore, for Lent, we will be preparing our hearts by reading the spiritually wise and always moving work of Howard Thurman (1899-1981). We will be reading one of his passionate books, Disciplines of the Spirit (1977). We will be reading a chapter of this book and discussing it every Saturday at 10:30am starting on Feb 20th. Please email me if you would like to sign up.” ( firstname.lastname@example.org)
- Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday Service will be shown on THIS Wednesday, February 17th, at 6 p.m., on our usual on-line formats: Facebook, here, on our web site, and on YouTube.
Rev. Victoria will be preaching! Please join us for that special service which will help us all to begin the Lenten Season together!
- “Praying Through Lent”
“Praying Through Lent” – Every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. (beginning February 24th) we will have an opportunity to be together in fellowship and prayer via Zoom. Pastor Liz will be leading us in a short time of prayer, scripture reading, and reflection. This will give us an opportunity to “see” each other, and be in community through Lent!
